When did you last speak to Becca?

It's 2am, the vodka is open and Fiona is digging in for the night. She is full of chat and strange stories. And Jo hasn t had someone to talk to for a long time. It seems they have so much in common. This is a safe space isn t it?
So crank up the vinyl, crack open the memory bank and let the inhibitions crumble. Because remember, a stranger is just a friend you haven't met.
And sure, do you ever really know anyone?
Standing in Lifts with Strangers is an exquisitely offbeat comedy with a seriously dark streak!

Standing in Lifts with Strangers is the first play to emerge from the inaugural Bewley's Percolate Programme, a support initiative for Irish playwrights that Bewley's Cafe Theatre started under Covid. In early 2021, Jennifer Laverty was one of seven playwrights selected to take part in the two-year programme, which involved workshops, talks and collaboration with a panel of artistic advisers with a variety of experience and expertise. Other works developed under Percolate will be showcased later in 2022 with the aim of production on our stage and beyond in 2023.
